For the last 8 weeks we’ve spent a great deal of time learning about censorship, and the unique ways so many different things are censored. Whether it be in movies, tv shows, the media, books, articles, marketing, etc. censorship exists EVERYWHERE! We’ve gained so much information in being able to determine when exactly an individual or instance was censored, how they were censored, and understanding exactly why that happened. Due to all the information we’ve gained this semester, it was probably difficult for many of us to determine just one thing that we feel should be censored.
After a lot of pondering, I decided to do mine about the lack of censorship that exists on YouTube, particularly YouTube Kids. I created my analysis via podcast, attached below. It features discussions of the strange and dangerous faucets that YouTube allows on their platform, that is marketed directly to kids. If you listen, thank you and I hope you enjoy!
